PMRA heads to Quebec for Eaton PMRA Challenge
Pro Mod teams ready for inaugural race at famous Sanair Complex

ST-PIE, QUEBEC (August 14, 2006) – As part of its quest to bring the best in Pro Modified drag racing, the Pro Modified Racing Association (PMRA) will be staging its premier event August 19 at the Mecca of Quebec motorsport, the famous Sanair Motorsport Complex.

This event, the third in the five-race 2006 PMRA season, will be the Eaton PMRA Challenge presented by Eaton's Electrical business, and the first time for the PMRA "world's fastest door slammers" at the quarter-mile Sanair strip.

Second round winner Kasey Janzen“We’ve heard a lot about this great Pro Modified series, and are pleased to be holding a PMRA event”, said Sanair’s Jacques Guertin. “The fans love this class and we look forward to a good show.”

With two races completed this year, and two different winners, the PMRA has developed into providing close heads-up racing with no domination from any of its competitors. Kasey Janzen of St. Catharines, ON, won the latest round earlier this month at St. Thomas Dragway, and Brantford’s Mark Nielsen won the opening round at Toronto Motorsports Park. The Grainy Brothers entry of North Tonawanda, NY, is always a threat, as well as last year’s PMRA champion Joe Lilienthal, of Kenmore, NY.

Eaton's Carl SpieringOther notables at the Sanair event will include Carl Spiering’s Eaton Electrical Supercharged Pro Modified Chevrolet Camaro of Jordan Station, ON, and PMRA regulars Mark Mitchell from New York state, along with the Ontario teams of Bruce Boland, Joe Boniferro, Terry Brown, Dave Earhart and Rob Laperriere.

Pro Modified Racing Association qualifying for Eaton PMRA Challenge presented by Eaton's Electrical business will be held at 3:00 p.m., 4:15 p.m., and 5:30 p.m. Saturday, August 19, with eliminations to begin for the quickest eight entries at 7:30 p.m.

The Eaton PMRA Challenge presented by Eaton's Electrical business at Sanair will be the third stop for the PMRA's season. Other races for 2006 are at Lancaster Raceway Park in Clarence, NY September 15, and the Pro Modified Racing Association is pleased to be running its inaugural event at the Grand Bend Motorplex over the Labor Day weekend.
