IHRA
and Kaase Racing Engines have announced the formation of the
Kaase IHRA Pro Stock Tuning Challenge to reward Torco Race Fuels
Pro
Stock competitors for their consistency during qualifying at
national events in 2005.
The Kaase IHRA Pro Stock Tuning Challenge pays out $500 to the
driver who records the best average elapsed time during qualifying
at every IHRA national event. With the conclusion of the season,
the World Finals at Rockingham, the program pays out $2,000 to
the competitor with the best average qualifying elapsed time for
the 12 Hooters IHRA Series national events.
To qualify, competitors must display the selected decal on both
sides of the entry car and run all qualifying sessions to be eligible.
“I’m very pleased to have Jon Kaase and Kaase Racing
Engines aboard for this program,” stated IHRA Director of
Competition and Technical Services Mike Baker. “Kaase is
an established and respected name in the world of IHRA Torco
Race Fuels Pro Stock, and his involvement with the class is further
solidified by the IHRA Kaase Pro Stock Tuning Challenge.”
As a leading engine builder and someone who
works closely with IHRA Torco Race Fuels Pro Stock competitors,
Kaase saw a niche
to fill with this unique program. “The class is more competitive
than ever and it takes consistency to win championships. We want
to give something back to the racers and teams that strive for
those two goals, and to reward the people that have supported
us.”
