Team AMS Readies for Hometown Race

9-20-05 Wylie, Texas - for immediate release

The AMS Pro Mod Racing team owned by Dave Wood and driven by Troy Critchley is currently preparing for one of their biggest races of the year, the
O'Reilly Auto Parts Fall Nationals September 23-25 at the famed Texas Troy ChritchleyMotorplex. AMS Staff Leasing, which is headquartered in Dallas, brings out many of its employee's and supporters to witness the power of NHRA AMS/TLR
Pro Mod Racing to the Dallas race located in Ennis, Texas. Aussie born driver Troy Critchley is pumped up for the event and stated, "I want to get that elusive first win here at Dallas. That would be an awesome feat. It would be incredible for Dave and Gidget Wood for us to take the trophy home to Wylie, which is only an hour away from the track. We have a great team and car, now we just have to put together a solid string of runs and get it done. I feel good about this weekend, I know the "Jackhammer" will be ready to rock with the best of them".

After the disappointing loss in Indy, the team has busy regrouping and also
running the "Other Jackhammer" in Texas Outlaw competition. Chad Wilson
reports, "We ran well last weekend at Houston Motorsports Park, but lost to
Josh Hernandez in the finale of a match race. We ran 4.11 @ 178 Mph with the
Corvette, so we were happy with that. We do not have many runs on that car so every run helps a lot to obtain valuable data. All in all, we had a good time and the people at the track treated us very well. Now it's time to focus on the Willys and our tasks at hand for Dallas".

The AMS team, which presently sits in the 4th spot in NHRA Pro Mod points,
can move back into 3rd place with strong outings at the last races of the
season. Crew Chief Darren Mayer states, "We have had a great car all year
long. In the middle of the season we had a lot of two-cent parts breakage
that took us off of our game. I'm confident that we have a winning car. It
will just take us working together as a team to achieve our common goals.
Everyone on this team is excellent at what they do and I want that to show
through before the seasons end". Qualifying gets underway on Friday,
September 23 @ 3:00 P.M. Be sure to visit www.amspromods.com and
