The second Chassis Stop Mustang debuted at the recent Performance
World show in Mississauga and caused quite a stir. The blood red
machine looks downright bad even sitting still. The carbon fiber
tubs and lots of polished aluminum makes the Mustang show quality
and a good representation of what The Chassis Stop could do for
your racecar. The Mississauga based duo fabricated everything from
the chassis and tinwork right through to the headers, turbo and
intercooler plumbing.
Powered by a 378 cubic inch small block from Protech in Mississauga,
the single turbo unit is expected to produce in the region of
1700 horsepower. However if that is not enough power, Fortune has
Protech
working on a 420 cube motor producing around about 2200 HP that
will see duty later in the season. The team fully expects to
see runs in the 6.3-second range during the year. All this horsepower
will be transmitted to the 34.5 x 17 Goodyears via one of Hutch’s
bulletproof Powerglides and a Neil Chance bolt together converter.
The similarity with DaSilva does not end with being Canadian and
racing a Mustang. EFI tuner extrordinaire Job Spetter Jr. is responsible
for the tuning calls on the Accel DFI Gen 7 system as he is with
DaSilva. Fortune will be joining DaSilva in Fun Ford action as
well as taking in some NMRA events. The Canadian fans will see
the car at non-conflicting OSCA events running in the Pro Outlaw
class. A decision on whether the team will contest the CFSCS or
the conflicting Fun Ford event at Norwalk will take place closer
to the event.
The Chassis Stop can be reached on (905) 565-1538 and can handle
